A Brief History of the Plassey Brewery
The Plassey Brewery is located in the superb
"Plassey Leisure Park" in Eyton near Wrexham. Set mid way between the villages of Overton and Marchwiel,
in the beautiful Dee Valley some few minutes drive off the A483 Chester-Wrexham-Oswestry route (see 'Where we are').
The brewery was first founded in October 1985 by the late Alan Beresford, of the once famous Border Breweries Wrexham,
With the specific aim of producing fine traditional country ales.
In the years since, many other brewing experts have followed in the footsteps of Alan Beresford into the Plassey Brewery,
honing and perfecting the real ales produced there. Passing on and ever evolving brewery, now in the capable hands
of Ian Dale.
Since joining the Plassey Brewery in 1989 Ian Dale has used his expertise
as a brewer and a chemist to produce an astonishing array of awards for the brewery, from the brewing industry and real ale connoisseurs. Proving Plassey beers
not only to be excellent but also constant in quality and reliability.
These awards include: UK Beer Championship Finalists 1991, 1992, 1993, 1995, 1996 and 1997.
Winning the Bronze Medal in 1992 and 1996. Champion Beer of Wales in 1995,1996, 1997 and 1998.
